About Surgical Dental Procedures

Improving the overall appearance of your teeth

Sometimes the dental issues you may be facing will require more advanced surgical treatment. Our patients have access to a wide variety of services all at our convenient Greenacres, FL location. Common oral surgery procedures we handle at Conscious Care Dental include extractions, root canals, implants, and frenectomies.

Implants

Zirconia implants are ceramic dental implants that are a permanent solution to the loss of a tooth or teeth. Zirconia dental implants are durable, long-lasting metal-free dental implants that restore your smile with more natural, permanent solution to missing teeth.

They can be used for patients who want a more natural look, or for patients who simply want to avoid having metal in their body and in the rare case of a titanium allergy.

Extractions

Some teeth must be extracted because they are severely decayed or too damaged to be restored, have advanced periodontal disease, or might be broken in a way that cannot be repaired. Dr. Crane, DMD, takes great care and skill when performing any tooth extraction or surgical dental procedures to ensure your experience is as comfortable and painless as possible.

Frenectomies

We offer tongue tie and lip tie treatment for patients of all ages including infants. Tongue-tie, also known as ‘Ankyloglossia’, is a condition where the lingual (tongue) is too tight causing restrictions in the movement of the tongue. While a lip tie means that the lip (labial) frenum is too tight which decreases lip mobility.

Both of the conditions can cause significant difficulties including speech, swallowing, eating and breathing. It also limits the growth of the jaws which may lead to crowded teeth.

We use laser technology for Frenectomies which offers distinct advantages over other methods such as scissors or a scalpel to treat soft tissue. Using laser treatment can reduce collateral damage, reduces discomfort during and after surgery, and allows for quicker healing.

Root Canal

In the old days, the only treatment for a painful or infected tooth was to extract it.  Our Holistic approach to dentistry tries to avoid root canals whenever possible. Over the last several decades, root canal therapy has been developed into a highly reliable method of salvaging the damaged tooth for a long, comfortable, and functional life.  It can be a complex subject whether to preserve the tooth or remove it, and Dr. Steven Crane will go over all of your options with you so you can make an informed decision.
